How Do I Enter?

Entry is free.
You can apply by completing the entry form. Competition Now Closed. All entries are to be received no later than 5pm, Friday 4 June 2010.
It is a condition of entry that you MUST supply ALL of the following with your application otherwise you will be considered ineligible:
• Complete the entry form online
• Complete Solo Artist/Band Members Details
• Supply solo artist or band MySpace URL
• Submit two mp3 files of two original, properly mastered, broadcast-quality tracks performed by the band or artist
• Submit one page biography of the band or solo artist including details such as the performance history of the band or solo artist
• Submit photos (jpeg) of the band or artist
• Provide contact details for one person (over 18 years of age) who is authorised to make decisions on behalf of the band or artist.
NA2R is only open to artists and bands aged between 15 and 30. If you are applying as a band, the majority of band members must fit the age limit criteria.
Who will do the judging and how will the entries be judged?
The judging panel is made up of music and program directors from Australian commercial radio stations.
The judges will review all valid entries received and decide on 10 finalists.
The 10 finalists for the 2010NA2R program will be announced on 18 August 2010.
ALL NA2R finalists must attend an exclusive NA2R workshop in Melbourne on Friday 10 September. Program and Music Directors from each of the four networks with independent media strategist Vicki Gordon (VGM) will form a panel to discuss the various machinations involved in servicing a New Artist 2 Radio.
The 2 Winners for 2010 will be formally announced at the NA2R workshop.
The 2 Winners will be invited to perform at the 2010 NA2R Showcase and receive a share in six weeks of airplay, with four weeks across the day, on Commercial Radio Stations across Australia worth around $1.3 million; a digital Distribution deal with MGM for online sales; advice from VGM Media & Marketing regarding mainstream media & market and artist management. One act will also be selected to perform at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards the following night.
The Australian Commercial Radio Awards will be held at Crown, Melbourne on Saturday 16 October and will be attended by 1000 on and off-air radio personalities, music and program directors.
Any decisions made by the judges will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
What happens then?
The two winners selected will be required to enter into a binding agreement with Commercial Radio Australia in relation to their involvement in the 2010 NA2R program including the Showcase Peformances; Radio Airplay and all related activities.
None of the acts selected to participate will receive any payment for their performances at the 2010 NA2R Showcase; ACRAs or for any other related activities.
Furthermore, Commercial Radio Australia will not pay for any travel or accommodation or related costs for any of the acts selected to perform at the NA2R Showcase and ACRAs. All such costs must be borne by each artist or band.
All acts will also be required to attend all scheduled sound checks and to make themselves available for public relations engagements (including interviews on radio or other media) arranged by Commercial Radio Australia or to comply with any other another reasonable requests of Commercial Radio Australia.
Artists will work with VGM and MGM in the production of the single for distribution in early 2011.
The advertising and airplay awarded to 2010 NA2R winners will be scheduled to go to air in early 2011.
