2013 - The First Break Workshop - Sydney
The Final 5 from this year’s First Break program will attend the First Break Workshop and performance.
The First Break Workshop, held at the DMG Studios in Sydney, offers Finalists invaluable ‘money can’t buy’ access to establish and forge close and direct communications with influential commercial radio programmers. The workshop is primarily designed to provide the artists and bands with a realistic perspective about commercial radio, to increase their knowledge of how music directors make their decisions, and to increase their chance of airplay on Australian commercial radio.
The workshop includes insider information such as strategies for servicing a new song, maintaining radio profile, securing network support, how playlists and formats are developed, and what different stations are looking for with regard to new Australian music.
Immediately following the workshop the Final 5 will perform live in front of the judges to determine who will be the inaugural First Break winner.
2013 – Media Conference
The winner of the 2013 First Break competition will attend a Media Conference to formally announce the winner. The winner will perform for invited media and special guests.
Saturday 12 October 2013 - Live Performance – Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs)
One of the most valuable elements to the program is the live performance in front of around 1200 of the radio and music industry’s elite at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs), being held this year at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
